So we are probably a bit partial, but I think we are puppy parents to the world's smartest dog. We have had Roxy just 5 days and she can already not just sit but also stay while we back up holding her toy / treat and then call her to come get it. Pretty good for a little puppy, right?! We think so.
Check out her trick here!

I'd like to come over and run interference and see how well that sit and stay command work.
But yeah, she's pretty smart. And sort of cute.
BTW - too bad no one else will post a comment on your blog, including another blogger that used to be sad that no one would post comments on her blog...I guess I'll just keep my running commentary going until others see that it's okay to make comments. Even if they aren't funny.
I am pretty sure Lisa's comment was directed at me, so I'll go ahead and make a comment....
The Gossetts are very impressed with Roxy's trick. You'll surely be the top student in Puppy Kindergarten in a few weeks. Maybe we can have a "sit/stay off" at Seabrook in a few weeks. Wow, I am so competitive I even feel the need to enter my dog into petty competitions. Pretty pathetic.
Chris says: "yeah you are pretty pathetic."
But, when he checked with Maggie on the whole competition thing, she said she didn't mind and that she thought she could win. She really is my child.
All it takes is a slight breeze and Roxy's training goes out the window. She certainly lacks Tiger Woods' focus, but I guess I can't blame a 12-week old puppy.
The only competition I think she could win is a pee off. If she were an old man I'd have serious prostate fears.
I think Roxy is going to be the devil in Seabrook - she's so crazy hyper on her own that with two other dogs, she's going to go nuts. Will be very funny to watch though I am assuming all her training will go out the window for the entire weekend. Can't wait to see what happens!
