Kauai Photo Sesh

We've done family photos the last few summers near home but thought it would be fun to change it up a bit this year with a family photo session while in Kauai. Major props go to Lisa for finding and coordinating the photographer.

We decided to do the session the first full day we were there, figuring the kids would be up early given the time change and we wouldn't be too sun burned kissed yet.  Shipwreck Beach made for a perfect backdrop and despite a very windy (crazy hair for the ladies) and bright day (possible squinting from everyone), we came away with a ton of great shots!

Here are some of my favorites!

Kidergarten Graduate

We officially have a kindergarten graduate in the house!

On Thursday, Jackson and his classmates wrapped up their year as kindergartners with a cute ceremony at school.  It included caps and gowns, a walk down the aisle, speeches (from the teachers), video slide shows (photos, and a tribute to their teacher who is moving to Las Vegas over the summer), songs, and diplomas.  Joan, Curtis and my parents were able to attend and we celebrated with dinner and dessert afterwards, back at our house.

We are just so incredibly proud of all that Jackson has accomplished this year and how well he's done in school, and we are all eager to see what first grade brings. And for that, he'll be at a new school!

Congrats to the class of 2017 Evergreen Academy Kindergarten graduates!

Graduating at school seemed like an appropriate time to graduate to the next scooter, which he's been asking for!

Gramma Joan and Grampa Curtis kept Jackson out of school yesterday for a super fun day to celebrate his 1st grader status, complete with an iFly experience, which Jackson loved!
