No amount of discussion and reasoning prior to seeing Santa at the U Village, during which J agreed to hug Santa and sit on his lap, brought J any comfort when actually meeting the guy this year. After saying "hi" to the helper who opened the door to Santa's cabin, J started immediately crying upon actually seeing Santa up close. He completely lost it when I set him on Santa's lap.
We had two photos to choose from - a sad, crying Jackson, or a terrified Jackson. Being the great parents we are, we went with terrified. Go big or go home, as they say.
And bless Santa's heart for remaining so calm, cool and collected in the midst of Jackson's tantrum.
