Hike to Lake Margaret

With another beautiful, sunny day forecasted, Corey and I met up with the Gossetts and Reeders for a 4th of July hike to Lake Margaret.

The 6-mile trek gave us plenty of great shots of Mt. Rainier, a good workout and even a little snow. At first, all we saw where small patches of snow on the way up the first big hill. But after reaching the top and starting to make our way down to the lake, we realized the trail had all but disappeared underneath deep snow. After attempting to hike down the snow, we realized it was easier if we sledded down on our butts, which made for a fun (and wet) adventure.

All in all, even though this was a fairly strenuous hike, we had a great time with great friends and look forward to more hiking adventures in the future.

Our view of Mt. Rainier as we navigated up the trail.

Cool shot of the sign pointing us towards the lake...before we realized this would take us through tons of snow.

Much of the way down the trail to the lake was spent on our butts.

We made it! Corey and I in front of Lake Margaret.
